GYMD
1 05 2007
I have been reading a lot about the GTD (getting things done) system of organization. Basically it is a set of tools to help people be more efficient in what they do. There are many sites that are dedicated to this, but I have yet to see one that addresses the needs of youth ministry. So in an effort to help those who are organizationally challenged, I have decided to share some of my tools. I am calling it GYMD (Getting Youth Ministry Done).
To start with, I am going to talk broadly about thing: Google. Google has so many tools that can be very useful to everyone, but it can also be used specifically for youth ministry. Of course there is Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Reader. I use these everyday in youth ministry. The best advice I give guys who are techno-challenged is get Google savvy. More tips will follow in more detail, this is just an overview. So if you are new to ministry, or just feel like you never get things organized, then keep checking back.
